UK Cytomegalovirus Conference. 11-12 April 2013. This meeting will contribute towards maintaining and enhancing the leading position of the UK within this fascinating area of biology.
Networks in Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy (NIBB) Fostering cross disciplinary communities. Up to 15 million pounds has been allocated for this networking initiative and aims to fund approximately 10 networks of varying scales. Two town meetings will be held in York - 15 February 2012 and London - 21 February 2012. Attendance will be on a first-come-first-served basis, so early registration is recommended.
Fungal Biofilms Meeting in Glasgow, 20-21 May, the second held under the aegis of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) Study Group for Biofilms (ESGB). The meeting will emphasise clinics and therapeutics, diagnostics, antimicrobial resistance, and susceptibility testing.
Cryopreservation 21-22 February. Two-day course on the fundamental science of long-term preservation and hands-on application of conventional as well as novel preservation techniques. This specialised course is designed for lab technicians, early researchers and experienced algal scientists who are moving into biotechnology.
Applications are now invited for our popular Vacation Studentship scheme for summer 2013. Applications must be made by the project supervisor on behalf of a named UG student. Closing date 15 February 2013.
