Makeover for SGM meetings
The first new-look SGM conference will have a main theme, the Legacy of Fleming, with a range of symposia and workshops exploring various aspects of the latest developments in the diagnosis, prevention, control and treatment of infectious diseases. But much more than medical microbiology will be covered, with sessions on many other areas of microbiology including education and training, as well as prize lectures, events for early-career microbiologists and opportunities for networking. There will be the usual full virology programme consisting of two symposia and 6 workshops plus - new for 2009 – poster presentations. SGM is also delighted to welcome commercial sponsorship from the trade exhibitors who will be displaying their wares and services.
