Lister Institute Research Prizes
The Lister Institute is inviting applications for its prestigious Research Prizes, each worth £200,000. These awards represent a unique opportunity for outstanding young scientists to advance their research careers. Candidates should submit their proposals for research in biological and biomedical sciences or related areas.
Proposals will be assessed on the basis of the research’s quality, originality and its potential implications for the broad area of preventive medicine. Candidates will also be assessed on the basis of their scientific achievements and ability to carry out independent research.
More details and application forms are available from the Lister Institute. Closing date is 3 December 2010. Short-listed applicants will be interviewed on Wednesday 18 May 2011 when they will have the opportunity to present their research ideas to the Institute’s Scientific Advisory Committee.

The EMbaRC Training and Outreach Programme (TOP) is an opportunity for scientists* to stay at one of the EMbaRC centres and benefit from expert advice and advanced equipment. EMbaRC will cover the bench fees, travel and subsistence costs. For more information and application form, visit the TOP webpage.
This unique opportunity for training in collection management, identification of bacteria and fungi by state-of-the-art techniques or phenotypic screening of a collection of strains is organised with the support of the Seventh Framework Programme, Research Infrastructures Action.
